The Parkes Show is held each year at the end of August and runs over three days and two nights with plenty of entertainment, side shows and trade stands along with a spectacular fireworks display that can be seen from miles around.
The event features four days of horse events as well as exhibits of sheep, cattle, birds & poultry and don't forget the pavilion displays. The Parkes Show is one of the biggest agricultural shows west of the Blue Mountains,so come along and have a great time!!!

PARKES ELVIS FESTIVAL
Wednesday 6th January to Sunday 10th January 2021
The Parkes Elvis Festival is held every January in Parkes, in central west New South Wales.
The event is held on the second weekend in January, coinciding with Elvis Presley's birthday
The Parkes Pastoral Agricultural & Horticultural Association Inc (Parkes PA&H) manages the Showground camping during the Elvis Festival. Our goal is to support the Elvis Festival Committee by making the resources of the Showground available as a camping area for visitors to the Festival.
Showground facilities include:
Showers & Toilets
4 toilet blocks (disabled toilet western end of the grandstand)..
2 shower blocks are located at the western end of the grounds..
1 relocatable shower block is located at the eastern end of grounds..
Dump point is located at amenities block near the Currajong trees, behind the stables area..
Water is available throughout the grounds so kindly share with other campers..
The Showground cool room is located at the entrance gate on Victoria St
and is open from 8am - 6pm where ice is available for purchase..
Breakfast & papers are available at the canteen adjacent to the show secretary's office just near the grandstand..
Parkes Rural Fire Service are providing a hearty cooked breakfast from 7am - 9am..
Parkes Harness Racing conduct a race meeting on the Wednesday night commencing at 6.30pm with TAB facilities..
The Parkes Men's Shed is also on site so the gents are welcome to come along, have a cuppa and a chat..
Taxi’s approximate fare to town is $10. Phone 6862 2222 for pickup from the main entry gate or the brick gates..
Bus service runs Wednesday to Sunday with hourly pickups from the main entry gate or the brick gates..

Parkes Showground is currently closed for camping & caravanning until further notice due to the Corona Virus.
The Parkes Showground is Crown Reserve Land managed by a group of Trustees appointed
from the various user groups of the Showground. The day to day management of the Parkes Showground is delegated to the Parkes Pastoral Agricultural & Horticultural Association Inc. (Parkes PA&H/Show Committee), a not for profit organisation run by volunteers with all money raised from the grounds being used to maintain the Showground infrastructure, as a condition of the lease agreement with the PSLM (Parkes Showground Land Managers).
The showground consists of 29 separate buildings ranging in size and character; amenities blocks, stable complexes, sheep, cattle & poultry pavilions, animal nursery, show secretary's office, caretaker's cottage, catering areas, grandstand and exhibition pavilions. Also on site are Parkes Harness Racing, Parkes Men's Shed and Parkes CanAssist. Outside of the annual show time at the end of August and the renowned Elvis Festival in January,
the Showground is used by travellers with horses, or caravan owners visiting for short term stays along with sporting/agricultural bodies for various events ie.. car shows, rodeos, circuses, music events, beef, cattle,
poultry & dog shows.
Camping at Parkes Showground can be accessed via the main entry gate at 52 Victoria Street. Camping sites are available under the shady currajong trees adjacent to the stables to the left of entry or close to the new amenities block in open space to the right of entry. The current rate is $25 per night per site (powered or unpowered).
Peter & Cherrill are your friendly hosts & caretakers on site who will walk around the grounds approximately 6.30pm
each night to ensure you are settling in and to collect your fees (EFTPOS preferred). We are pet-friendly however pets
must be contained or leashed whilst on site.
